The term "seed" is used in the New Testament in three forms:

1. Physical "Seed", i.e. birdseed, Mustard Seed (usually meant to be symbolic)
2. Physical "Seed", i.e. Sperm, Ovum
3. Spiritual "Seed", i.e. Word of God, Gospel, Bible

The physical seeds are described as corruptible (1 Peter 1:23), while the Spiritual Seed is incorruptible (same verse), due to the fact that man is sinful, thus corruptible, while God is perfect in his ways, thus incorruptible.
