Mark chapter 13 provides the clearest description of the end of time and the Second Coming. Jesus told his listeners that they would see the great buildings of Jerusalem destroyed, and the abomination of desolation. His listeners would see the sun and moon cease to shine and the stars fall to earth. This would be followed by the Son of man coming in clouds of glory. Jesus said that this would take place during their own generation.

Mark 9:1 foreshadows the fuller account in chapter 13, saying that some of those who stand here will not taste death until they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. While the destruction of Jerusalem's great buildings and abomination of desolation certainly occurred, as did the civil war that saw family members slaughter each other, the world did not end, but at the time of writing (about 70 CE) it certainly seemed as if the end was nigh.

Others believe the Book of Revelation contains prophecies of the end of the world and the return of Jesus, even though some of the early Church leaders thought that book unworthy of inclusion in the New Testament. Origen disputed the book's value, and, in the fourth century, Eusebius only agreed to its inclusion "if thought proper."

Does the bible tell us how to respond to blackmail?

The Bible gives basic principles, which when applied, make blackmail a mute point. For starters, if one is honest in all their dealings (Hebrews 13:18), then 1 doesn't have to worry about negative secrets being exposed to others. Another principle is avoiding association with people that have that kind of a mindset. (1 Corinthians 15:33; 1 Peter 2:1) (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)

Does the bible tell us that the 10 commandments have been abolished?

The Mosaic Law as a whole was done away with when Jesus came and established Christianity. The Law was "a tutor" leading to Christ (Galatians 3:24), meaning that the Law was temporary until Jesus put forth emphasis on the 2 greatest commandments: Love Jehovah God with everything you are as a person (Matthew 22:36-37), and love your neighbor as you would yourself. Jesus pointed out that the whole Law hung on these 2 commands/principles. (Matthew 22:39-40) Therefore, the Law was no longer necessary since now followers of Christ would focus on the principles behind the Law. (Galatians 3:25) (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)

Will the world really come to an end on December 21 2012?

There is no way to know when the world as we know it will end. The most reliable source is the bible. And although the bible does not give an exact time, it does give warnings. The end time prophecies have almost all been fulfilled already. This leaves us with a very short timeline.
