What is 'cxxll'? If you means 'CXXII'. in Roman numerals , it should be written with capital letters.

'C' = 100

'X' = 10

'XX' = 10 + 10 = 20

'I' = 1

'II' = 1 + 1 =2

Hence

CXXII = 100 + 20 + 2 = 122.
