hexadecimal (also called base 16 or hex) is a method of representing numbers using 16 unique symbols. The decimal nurerical system uses ten symbols 012345678 and 9 to represent numbers. Hexadecimal adds ABCDE and F to these to give 16 symbols with A representing ten and so on.
