On a 24-hour clock (also known as "military time") 18:00 or 1800 is 6 PM.

Since the 24-hour clock counts up to 24 once, instead of counting up to 12 twice, all you have to do to convert military time to regular time is subtract 12 from all times that are over 12.

For example, 0100 (01:00), 0200 (02:00), 0300 (03:00), all the way to 1100 (11:00) and 1200 (12:00) don't need to be converted, since they are the same in regular time: 01:00 is 1 AM, 02:00 is 2 AM, 03:00 is 3 AM...all the way to 11:00 is 11 AM, and 12:00 is 12 PM.

After 12 PM, military time continues counting up to 24, instead of starting from 1 again. So, for all military times that are over 12:00, you subtract 12.

For example, 13:00. 13 minus 12 is 1. So, 13:00 is 1 PM.

14:00 would be 14 minus 12, which is 2. So, 14:00 is 2 PM.

18:00 would be 18 minus 12, which is 6. So, 18:00 is 6 PM.

23:00 would be 23 minus 12, which is 11. So, 23:00 is 11 PM.

Note that military clocks do not use AM or PM, since they don't need to. Since the regular clock counts up to 12 twice, there is a need to differentiate between the first count to 12 and the second. Since "11:00" could mean 11:00 in the morning, or 11:00 at night, we say "AM" or "PM" to make it clear which one we're talking about.

But since military time counts up to 24 once, each hour gets a different number. There is no such thing as 18:00 AM, or 18:00 PM. Rather, 06:00 is 6 AM, and 18:00 is 6 PM. And 11:00 is 11 AM, while 23:00 is 11 PM. 02:00 is 2 AM, and 14:00 is 2 PM.
