In the King James version

the phrase - into temptation - appears 7 times.

The first two are from The Lord's Prayer, which does NOT say that "he will not lead us into temptation" but rather, it asks him not to.

  1. 23295 Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
  2. 25409 Luk 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

The other verses do not refer to "lead into" bit are warnings against giving in to temptation

  1. 24095 Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  2. 24792 Mar 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
  3. 25904 Luk 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
  4. 25910 Luk 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
  5. 29797 1 Tim 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
