Matthew 10:2-4 says "Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him."

Matthew 4:18-21 "Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them."

I believe Matthew 10 gives them in the order in which they became disciples because it says "Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first..."

If you compare that list with Matthew 4, the first four are the same.

No, the names of the 12 Tribes of Israel are on the Gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.In Scripture, the number 12 represents 'organizational beginnings.'

What is the difference between the 12 Apostles and the 12 Disciplespwww.answers.comQWhats the difference between the 12 Apostles and the 12 Disciples?

The terms "Apostles" and "Disciples" refer to different groups within early Christianity. The 12 Disciples are the followers of Jesus who learned from him and spread his teachings, while the 12 Apostles are specifically chosen by Jesus to be his closest emissaries and to carry out his mission after his resurrection. All Apostles were Disciples, but not all Disciples were Apostles. The distinction often highlights the Apostles' role in leadership and the establishment of the early Church.

What were the 12 Apostles of Jesus's last names?

Last names didn't really exist in Biblical times. However, people were identified from the city from which they or their fathers were from. This is why Jesus is called Jesus of Nazareth.

Do the 12 apostles in the sea have names?

No. The name "12 Apostles" collectively covers the numerous sandstone formations within the Twelve Apostles National Park along the Victorian coastline. There are more than twelve such formations (despite several of them collapsing in recent years), and only a few are named. London Bridge, for example, was the name of one which collapsed.

The names of the apostles inscribed on the 12 gates of the New Jerusalem, as described in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 21:12-14), are the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. However, the specific names of the apostles associated with the gates are typically understood to represent the twelve apostles of Jesus, traditionally including Peter, James, John, Andrew, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the Less, Thaddeus, Simon the Zealot, Philip, and Judas Iscariot (though the latter is sometimes replaced by Matthias, who was chosen to replace him).
