John Chapter 1 states "in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Later in that chapter it says became flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among men". Jesus further states you have seen me you have seen the father, also saying I and my father are one, in another scripture.
The actual word "trinity" does not appear in The Bible, however many references are made as to God the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (the comforter). Even as early as Genesis we see God say let "us" make man in our image. Which to many confirms the existence of the trinity, as well as Jesus being there with him as well.
As a Baptist we believe that the Godhead is three separate entities each serving a diffent purpose, but that each are also the same.
