i need bible verses with works in them

Answer:

Many Bible verses deal with our "labours." Jesus refers to "His servants" all the time, and some of the things He expects of them [mainly to: LOVE ONE ANOTHER]:

"'If you Love Me, Obey My Commandments." (John 14:15 NLT New Living Translation)

"...Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will PRODUCE much fruit..." (John 15:5 NLT).

"My True disciples PRODUCE much fruit. This brings great joy to My Father." (verse 8)

"You are My FRIENDS, if you Obey Me. I no longer call you SERVANTS [workers], because a Master doesn't confide in his servants. Now you are My Friends, since I have told you everything the Father told Me... I appointed you to GO and PRODUCE fruit that will last..." (verses 14-16).

But, perhaps the most important passage in The Bible regarding "work" is found in the Fourth Commandment -- which God commands His servants to KEEP:

"Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it Holy. SIX DAYS A WEEK are set apart for your daily DUTIES and REGULAR WORK, but the seventh day is A DAY OF REST dedicated to the LORD your God. On that day no one in your household may do any kind of WORK. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the LORD MADE the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; then He rested on the seventh day. That is why the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as Holy." (Ex.20:8-11 NLT)

God commands His Children to WORK... which is contrary to man's way; whose governments call for people to "rest," and to be taken care of by them.

In honest work is joy and reward. In laziness is low esteem and sorrow.

"Hard work means prosperity; only fools idle away their time. Thieves are jealous of each other's loot, while the Godly bear their own fruit." (Prov.12:11-12 NLT)

"Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper and be satisfied." (Prov.13:4 NLT)

"Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappear; wealth from hard work grows." (verse 11)

Man's inherent laziness and aversion to "work" [to obey the Commandments of his Creator] has resulted in his "slavery" to the god of this world... who owns the "take-care-of-me" governments of men [see Luke 4:5-6].

"Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave." (Prov.12:24 NLT)

In the end... the Bible tells us that it is the WORKS we do in our lives by which God will Judge each of us. And it tells us that God shall continue His "work" to establish His Kingdom on earth, the "Good News" He has promised.

"Few will be left alive when I HAVE FINISHED MY WORK. People will be as scarce as gold - more rare than the gold of Ophir. For I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move from its place. I, the LORD Almighty, will show My fury and fierce anger." (Isa.13:12-13 NLT)

The Bible says that our "works" - the things we DO - define us... and BECOME what we are. And God's Judgment of them will determine our future: Eternal Life -- or eternal death.

"Let the one who is DOING WRONG [his works are illegal and unjust], continue to do wrong; the one who is VILE [his works are morally filthy], continue to be vile; the one who is GOOD [his works are equitable, innocent, just], continue to do good; and the one who is HOLY [his works are morally blameless through Christ], continue in holiness. See, I AM coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to repay all ACCORDING TO THEIR DEEDS [works]." (Rev.22:11-12 NLT)
