The author in Psalms 1 is telling what will happen ultimately to sinners, and what will happen ultimately to those who follow GODs word.
David
The book of psalms is made of one book only.
There is only ONE book of Psalms and it has 150 chapters. It is true that there is only one book of psalms however within psalms there are five books that correspond to the first five books of the Bible: Book 1: Psalms 1-41 Book 2: Psalms 42-72 Book 3: Psalms 73-89 Book 4: Psalm 90-106 Book 5: Psalms 107-150

I can only answer you in the original Hebrew. In the Hebrew text, the longest verse in the book of Tehillim (Psalms) is Psalms 18:1.
David
J. W Rogerson has written: 'Psalms 1-150'
The book of psalms is made of one book only.
Oh honey, let me break it down for you. When you're talking about a specific chapter from the Book of Psalms, you use "Psalm" followed by the chapter number, like "Psalm 23." But if you're referring to the entire book as a whole, you can just say "Psalms." So, remember, it's "Psalm" for one chapter and "Psalms" for the whole shebang.

David
The book of Psalms credits King David as authoring about half of the book of Psalms, other authors credited in the book are Moses, Solomon, Herman, Ethan, the sons of Korah, and the sons of Asaph. About a third of the psalms have no author's name prefixed to them. They all were complied together in to the book of Psalm by an unknown priest or rabbi at a later time.

It depends on context. If you are talking about Psalm 124, you would say "Psalm 124" since it is the name of that particular poem. If you wish to reference the specific verse Psalms 124:18, then you would say "Psalms" since that is the name of the book.

If you mean the 'twin' Psalms, then they are Psalm 111 and 112, which many believe were written by the same author and should be one.
King David is named as the author in 73 of the 150 Psalms. According to Jewish tradition, he also authored all of the Psalms that have no author named in them, except for eleven which tradition ascribes to Moses (who is named only once). This brings David's total to 113 of the 150. However, it was he who collated all of the Psalms and in whose merit they never went lost.
