12 hour clock but could say the time in a 24 hour clock Analogue describes construction, not hours. It can be either.
Since there are two periods of time, a.m. and p.m. , 24 hours (the time in a day) needs to be split in two. 24 split in two is obviously 12.That is why there is twelve hours on a clock.
Add 12 to the number representing hours, from 1:00 pm to just before midnight.
Some clocks actually do have 24 hours on them, but a 24-hour clock is used by the military, some paramilitary organizations, and in other applications (like universal standard time). Most people just use a 12-hour clock. Note that most digital watches and clocks have a selectable 12- or 24-hour time.
7 AM in the 24-hour clock format is expressed as 07:00. In this system, hours are counted from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59, with the first 12 hours of the day represented in the same way as in the 12-hour format. Thus, 7 AM remains 07:00 in the 24-hour clock.
12 hours,

The difference between 12 hour clock and a 24 hour clock is that when you say 1:00am for a 12 hour clock you would say 0100 hours
Probably because people will get confused if they tried to use military time (which is based on the 24 hours clock. 2000 hrs is 8pm, 12+8=20).
12:00 hours
It would read 12 AM ... assuming that you used it to determine when 24 hours had passed.
5+12 is 17:00 in 24 hour clock

work it out form 12 o clock noon. there are 6 hours from 6am to 12 noon. there are 8 hours form 12 noon to 8pm 6+8 = 14 Also, it is easier if you use a 24 hour clock rather than a 12 hour one In a 24 hour clock 6am = 0600 hours and 8 pm = 2000 hours 2000-0600 = 1400
