It will depend on if a lube or dry torque, type of washer used. If lock washer is used then less torque is needed to not damage the lock washer. It should be about 170 ft/lbs max dry with flat washer, if it leaves an imprint in the metal (head or washer) it is too tight. In this case use less torque or down grade. Please note that the washer side is normally the side torqued, regardless of where the washer isi.e. head or threaded side, if concerned then washer both ends.

What is the maximum torque allowed in M32 10.9 grade bolt?

The maximum torque for an M32 10.9 grade bolt typically ranges from 300 to 400 Nm (Newton-meters), depending on factors such as the type of lubrication and the specific application. It's important to consult the manufacturer's specifications or torque tables for precise values, as these can vary. Additionally, using a torque wrench is recommended to ensure proper tension and prevent bolt failure.

What is mean by reverse torque testing?

Once the initial torque is applied to the fastener, a reverse torque test can be performed to make sure that the fastener has not loosened due to vibration or other conditions like material fatigue or yielding. So, lets say you tighten a bolt to 150inlb with a torque wrench. You should be able to take that torque wrench and apply 150inlb to the bolt in the reverse direction without the bolt loosening (reverse torque is gretaer in almost all cases, depending on materials because initial static friction must be overcome.)
