There is very little metal to metal contact as the metal parts are separated by a film of oil. Newer EFI equipped engines last longer due to better control of fuel, as they completely shut off the fuel when decelerating, which prevents fuel from washing the cylinder walls .
Internal combustion.
So that it is easier to tell from afar whether the turbine is rotating or not, for safety reasons
A life time if you have lead.
aircraft engines are normally reciprocating engine or pistan engine, the Aircraft instruments in a reciprocating engine arecylinderpistonand so...................
like all other engines they are made/manufactured in a factory on an assembly line or mostlikely now, by machines
20 to 30 years
Nissan engines are reported to last years. There are reports of engines with as many as 220,000 miles and still running great.
I have 120,000 on my van and it is still going great...I wish I knew how long these engines will last...
As with any mechanical device, it is proportionate to care and maintenance and lack of abuse and misuse. They have not been out that long, compared to say, Motorcyle engines so it is difficult to average out.
Well im not sure on average but i have a 95 jimmy with 219,000 on it
What year? If it has a 4.5 or a 4.9l engine, then it will last 300,000+ miles. They're very good engines.
what makes milk last so long
The last Chrysler LeBaron was in 1995. Both engines available that year had timing belts. The last Chrysler LeBaron was in 1995. Both engines available that year had timing belts.
Normally Indy car engines are rebuilt after every race, so this equates to about every 500 miles. The reason being these engines run at a ridiculous speed, sometimes in excess of 19,000 rpm as opposed to a normal car which run at about 7-8,000 rpm. That being said, different race conditions also have bearing.
Gas turbine engines have less moving parts,so they last longer. They run on kerosene which is cheaper. This is the simple answer.
they are designed to last forever....
depends on how you drive them and take care of them. you should be able to get 500,000 miles fairly easily
