For example, the user can decide to add a lead-in and tail-out for circle cutting or hole cutting. The laser pierces a hole in metal and the pierce creates a larger diameter hole that the cut line. So, rather than having circles with a notch where the laser pierced, the user pierces inside the hole (where the scrap is) and then cuts a lead in line to the circle then after finishing the circle cut leads out into the scrap area again. Other functions include setting the tool width and then compensating for the width of the laser cut line. This makes for higher accuracy in cut parts. Additional functions include setting cut order to minimize head up moves. In some cases, the user can specify gas or air assist pressures in the laser setup section at the top of the g-code.
