Blade Pass Frequency is the number of blades/vanes passing a particular point in the casing of a pump/fan in unit time. It can be expressed in s-1 units or hertz.
Effective or Pitch diameter.On a parallel thread it is the diameter of an imaginary cylinder which would pass through the threads at such a point that both male and female thread were the same width. This point is usually but not always 1/2 the thread depth. It is only at 1/2 depth when the root & crest radii are the same.

All depends on the channel size, 7 or 9 passes required to reduce from a rectangular or square starting section. The bar is almost completely enclosed by the top roll in a "closed pass" sequence of grooves and the thickness of the web and flanges is progressively reduced. A control or edging pass before the finishing pass regulates the final flange length, area reduction in the last pass is minimal to avoid excessive pass wear.
This welder is certified to weld on pressure vessels. Testing is done on the weld either by X-Ray or pressure test. The root pass is inspected then the final pass is inspected during the test. If either inspection turns up a flaw, the test is over and you fail.
