Energy is released.
Energy. The atoms in solid steel are moving more slowly than the atoms in liquid steel.
It is about 0.005 Pa.s
7,87 gr/cm3
It's not healthy!! Though they are safer than they used to be, fumes released from molten solder and flux could contain chemicals that might be a long-term health hazzard. It is prudent to keep exposure to a minimum.
The gas acts as the flux would, in shielding the molten steel from the oxygen in the air.
Energy is released.
I find this easier to understand the opposite way round. To make solid steel a liquid do we have to give it energy it can absorb? Yes. We have to heat it up a lot. So making a solid into a liquid absorbs energy. When a liquid cools down and becomes a solid the opposite must happen. It must release energy into the environment. There are some cool words that scientists use instead of absorbs heat energy and releases heat energy. We say endothermic (endo = in, like an endoscope, and therm = heat like thermometer or thermal socks) for taking heat in and exothermic (exo = out, like exit or exoskeleton, and therm = heat). Use those words and your teacher will think you are really smart!
igneous rock.
it creates energy
Magma is molten rock. It becomes rock by cooling and hardening.
igneous rock
Heat! One has more [molten] while the other has less [solid]. Heat is also known as Kinetic Energy: the Energy of Motion.
A metal is actually solid beforwe application of high heat,a metal becomes molten when the heat is high enough to enable breakage of bonds between molecules of the metal such that the molecules are free to move as in liqiud.so a molten metal becomes solid when molecules form bond again as in solid.
No, molten rock is less dense than solid rock and rises through the crust.
it cools and becomes igneous rock
An erupting volcano occurs when the pressure of the molten lava beneath becomes too great.
It depends on the metal. As an example mercury (Hg) is liquid or molten at room temperature. Gallium becomes molten at just slightly above room temperature. Tungsten on the other hand has a very high melting temperature.
