Can a ultrasound be accurate if its saying im now due 3 weeks later then they determined?
I go by the LMP, but even then I had mine early.
Yes, if you have a long cycle they can differ. In my first pregnancy my last period was December 17th which made my due date 23rd September. My ultrasound (at 18 weeks) gave a date of October 4th. I had a 36 day cycle. 3 years later my cycle was 28 days and my ultrasound was spot on. An early ultrasound, around 6-7 weeks is extremely accurate. The later in pregnancy it is done the greater the variation as babies are all different sizes.
If the ultrasound is done in the first weeks of pregnancy it is possible to date the embryo within a few days, an ultra sound done later is not as accurate for dating purposes.
That's normal. You'll probably see it later in the pregnancy if the ultrasound is repeated.
Ultrasound technology was first discovered by Paul Langevin and his assistant in 1916. Sonar, a similar technique, was then developed during World War I. The medical applications of ultrasound were later developed in the 1950s and 1960s.
Yes. The obstetrician can use the images from the ultrasound screening to date a pregnancy. The size of the fetus, placenta, and/or your uterus are some of the factors used to determine how far along you are in your pregnancy. However, scans performed earlier on in the pregnancy are generally more accurate than those performed later, since in the later part of pregnancy the measurements could be affected by growth variations and may not correctly reflect the fetal age.
Pretty good. Early in pregnancy the average heart rate is 163. In later pregnancy between 110 and 150 is normal but it can still rise and fall with exercise.
You are probably about one month pregnant, but an ultrasound scan will be more accurate.
later or moreover later on, in the future, in awhile
In March I was 10 weeks pregnant and was spotting very lightly. I went to the hospital and they did an ultrasound. They told me that at 10 weeks they should be able to at least see the heart beating even though it might be too soon to see the baby. When they did the ultrasound all they saw was the sac. There was no heartbeat. I had a full miscarriage a few days later. It was determined by blood tests that I had miscarried about five weeks prior and was just now discharging the fetus. I pray that this is not the situation for you, and you have a healthy baby!
NO! My pregnancy hormones decreased and they thought it was a chemical pregnancy but my baby showed up on the ultrasound 2 weeks later. NO! My pregnancy hormones decreased and they thought it was a chemical pregnancy but my baby showed up on the ultrasound 2 weeks later.
Absolutely not. The later in pregnancy the less accurate the scan. The first two giving a due date of October 2nd will be correct and give you a conception date of around January 9th.
