Yes. Once you get your GED, go to college. After four years of college you go to med school for a few more years. After med school, you specialize in psychiatry, which takes more school. A lot of people confuse psychiatrist with psychologist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor first. He or she treats the brain primarily with drugs and uses some therapy. A psychologist doesn't use the drugs.
