Even though you can not hear the fetal heartbeat until week 9 or 10. Ultrasound is able to see a beating heart much sooner. An ultrasound can pick up the heartbeat as a "flicker" in the chest as early as 4 weeks. I wouldent worry, by the 12 week the baby's heartbeat can be heard using a monitor. Do not worry if the baby is fine you will hear the heartbeat eventually. The important thing is that his little heart beats.
