Treatment with intense pulsed light - this is a system very similar to laser removal but it is better able to target the heat to very small areas. There can also be a little pain during this form of freckle removal as the light is aimed at the area below the skin. This can be combated to a point with the use of cooling agents. This is not a quick procedure as each treatment will last about 20 minutes and there will need to be a number of sessions over a 4-6 week period.

Chemical Peel - it is usually light skinned and fair haired people who are best suited to having their freckles removed with a chemical peel. The chemicals are placed onto small areas of the skin and a wound appears. As this heals new skin has covered the freckle that needed to be removed. It can be carried out in either a doctor's surgery or clinic.
