The Boscastle flood occurred on the Monday 16th August in 2004. It started by a hurricane from Florida clashing with some of our air and causing it to rain heavily the rain then ran down the saturated slopes into the river Valency which soon burst it's banks and flooded the village, cars were carried away and over 100 people were air lifted to safety luckily it all happened in the day because if it had happened at night there would have almost certainly have been deaths and casulties as it were ther were no deaths which is what some people would call a miracle.
