Swish with hydrogen peroxide before you brush.

This could also burn your gums so once or twice a week is enough, only keep it in your mouth for 20 seconds or so and DO NOT swallow it.

It does also dry your mouth out a bit so if you buy a good mouth wash with fluoride and with out alcohol in it to use the rest of the day and week it will help fight cavities caused by dry mouth.

If your gums do get a little burnt they will appear white close to the teeth and hurt a little, rinse with warm salt water multiple times per day and it should heal up pretty quickly.
