I am not a doctor, but checking for a temp without a thermometer; should be used with the back of the hand from a person that is feeling well. It should be apparant if the person you are checking has a temp by comparison to the healthy individual. Make sure the person checking has not just come in from extreme hot, or cold weather to make the test accurate.
