it seems that lunch is a means of "keeping you going" through the day. too heavy of a lunch leads to sluggishness and too light of a lunch leads to shaky hunger. a medium-sized, and BALANCED meal is important. i figure that protein and carbohydrate combine to make for good fuel for the rest of your day. finish the day off with a good, full meal. that's what i think, but what i think isn't necessarily accurate or true.
