According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the estimated mean annual wage for registered nurses as of May 2008 is, $65,130. This would amount to $31.31 per hour. In the western states such as Nevada, California pay is much higher around 90-100K. The southeastern states such as Florida, Mississippi, Missouri, etc pay much lower around $40k/year so that is why the average wage numbers are skewed so much. States that have plenary practice make more on average.

I live in a suburb of Philadelphia but I'm sure pay rates change in accordance to your area. anyways, as an RN with an ASN, my weekly TAKE HOME pay was around $900 per 36hr work week. I got paid biweekly so my checks were usually in the $1700-1900 range. only deductions were regular taxes and my medical,vision, dental benefits.
