This depends on the location. in a metropolitan area you will make a higher hourly rate than a rural area because of the call volume. However, in a rural area you will work more hours (three 24 hour shifts rural, vs four 11 hour shifts in the city) so you get the same annual wage no matter where you work.

I just moved here and checked into it. I'm an EMT myself. They start out at 7.50 per hour!!!! and that's why I'm not working as an EMT.
EMT can earn anywhere from 42000 and 72000 dollars a year. You will need 2 years of basic emt training which can be earned at many universatries.
$11.00 to $18 an hour
not enough the cashiers at walmart make more than we do
The average pay for an EMT/Paramedic with less then a year of experience is around $11.00 an hour.
Firefighters usually make slightly more however the trend is leaning toward more firefighters becoming EMTs or they have paramedics on board at all times. So you can go through many programs that include EMT training. They make the most. The combo fire/EMT.
I was offered $250 for the weekend for BLS service.
It depends from state to state, but most requires you to work a full year as an EMT Basic before you can become an EMT Paramedic. You need to take the EMT Paramedic training and certification.
