Often when doctors tell mothers how much their child should weigh they never took bone structure into consideration. Take a look around you at your relatives. If you have short, tall, large-boned, small-boned then your child is going to one of these things. Some kids are string beans and could use a little extra weight on them, while others are pudgy and fight with weight problems. Some boys/girls are extremely short while others seem to shoot up to the sky. Don't worry so much. Children go into "growth spirts" and as long as they are eating well, get a physical every so often, Mother Nature will take care of the rest. Often mothers will talk to their friends and one friend may say how small or how tall (under weight or over weight) your child is. Don't listen! All childen are different. All you need to do is sit in a mall and study people. Just like adults some of us are short, tall, fat, thin, medium, big boned and small boned. It's genetics.
