A study reveals that children that have parents that work part-time have healthier children than full -time working parents (Murphy 1). Parents that constantly work have children that are most likely to become obese, and unhealthy (Murphy 1). Children are prone to eating sugary foods, playing Video Games, and watching TV, and without parental supervision children eventually become larger, and unhealthy. As the saying goes, the fruit does not fall far from the tree. So generations of unhealthy children will get passed down as their parents treat them to sugary foods. Obesity can cause many different health problems, and all of it could be avoided if mothers stayed home to keep their watchful eyes on their children. For the last 50 years more woman/mothers have been forced to enter the work place. This is understandable from a financial standpoint, however, mothers need to be in the home when their kids arrive home because kids need the guiding hand to stay on a good track, learn their morals, and values, and it could lower the crime rate for teenagers.

Due to financial considerations, for some families it is near impossible for mothers to stay home for their children. "…women who leave ultimately lucrative careers to become stay-at-home mothers are often forced to work for inadequate pay when the support runs out before they've been able to catch up with experience, education, skills and experience needed for higher compensation…" said Alan Feigenbaum, a Financial Advisor. This opinion reveals how much a mother could suffer if they had to leave a job for their children. However, mothers would suffer more without being there for them. "Babies register memories through sight, smell, sound and touch, and could have attachment confusion if they're only registering their nanny", said Dr. Michael Bradley, a child psychologist. Mothers are constantly fretting about children getting more attached to their Nannies then their own parents, for reasons of the Nanny always being there while the mother is away at work. The kids gradually grow more attached to someone that's always there, and develop a bond with the Nanny over time. For financial reasons it's nearly impossible for a mother to stay at home and watch their children, though mothers seem to want to work because it gives them purpose in life.
