Shiatsu is a Japanese word that denotes two written characters which meands finger (shi) and pressure (atsu). The word Shiatsu means "finger pressure".
Another name, but exactly the same modality, is Shiatsu.
Japanese therapy was originally from Chinese Medicine that eventually evolved to become a Japanese technique which is now popularly called as Shiatsu Massage. Shiatsu massage also practices chi energy that determines the patient's sickness or pains through its therapist's fingers.
