To stop severe bleeding of the upper leg which pressure point should you use?

Pressure points are no longer recommended as they have been shown to be a non-effective means of controlling bleeding. In the upper leg I would be concerned about the Femoral artery or blood coming out of the Femur itself (there is blood in bones and the femur has approximately 1,500ml of blood).

Direct pressure over the wound is the best treatment. If it is not controlling the bleeding, apply a torniquet and call 911.

There are three steps to controlling bleeding from the leg:1. Apply a dressing to the wound and apply pressure to it.2. Elevate the leg3. Apply pressure to the Femoral Artery in the groin.
