Sleeping with your head facing south is believed to align with the Earth's magnetic field, promoting better sleep quality and health. This orientation is thought to enhance energy flow and balance within the body, leading to improved rest and rejuvenation. Additionally, traditional practices in various cultures suggest that this position can foster a sense of calm and well-being. However, scientific evidence on the benefits of sleep orientation is limited, and personal comfort should also be a priority.
Most people naturally head towards the north when sleeping.

On researching the topic it appears that ancint Chinese sources including Confucius recommended head facing north with feet to the south while sleeping. An ancient Indian source Vastu recommends the opposite. Some believe that Vastu may have been giving advice that is opposite of truth to the masses, reserving true information for the king. The idea was to keep the masses supressed. According to some sleeping with head towards south and feet towards north leads a person to become lethargic and corrupt, conditions which lead to general poverty and disorder in society. This is because south has been regarded as the direction of the demon and north that of the Gods in mythology. Some answer this based on polarity of earths magnetic field but thaat does not lead to an answer. Both positions have their own advantages Due to the contradiction in various sources it is not possible to give a final answer yet. It may be possible that the best direction is different for each individual or that other things such as placement of bed with respect to bedroom walls, doors and windows is more important. It is best to experiment and find on one's own. For me the best direction has been with head to south and feet towards north. Sleeping with head to East led to nervousness and fear.
You are supposed to sleep keeping your head parallel to the North and South magnetic poles - which roughly translates to East west . This will nullify the magnetic pull on your blood ..again this is a belief - I do not have scientific papers to prove this.
There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that sleeping with your head facing north has any specific health benefits. It is more important to focus on getting a good night's sleep by creating a comfortable and conducive sleeping environment.
