When speaking with an EMT, consider asking about their most memorable experience on the job, the biggest challenges they face in emergency situations, and how they handle the emotional toll of their work. You might also inquire about the training and skills that are most crucial in their daily responsibilities. Additionally, asking for advice on how to assist in emergency scenarios could provide valuable insights.

The closest one is pasco-hernando community college. You can also go ask your local firefighters/paramedics and they should be able to shed some light on the training.

What does a monitor tech do?

A monitor tech is someone who sits around and watches pt's on telemetry ALL DAY! They are able to determine when a pt's heart rhythm changes. They report any changes to a nurse. Some states require that you take a basic arrhythmia class. In my case, I am an EMT and I have studied EKG strips. My hospital accepted that. I guess it really depends so ask your HR department. I make more money than an EMT on a truck, so its pretty good money!
