I recently had a burning feeling on the back of my right hand too, but directly after I noticed a Golf ball sized purple lump appear which scared me. It appeared I had burst a vein in my hand. ( there are many diff. kinds and sizes of blood vessels that can break) It happened again 2 weeks later but this time on my arm. This time I went to the ER. My blood pressure was 170 over 120....way to high. I am seeing a couple specialists about it this week.
For me, the burning sensation was my veins bursting I guess. I would advise you to be aware of anything like I mentioned, and get it checked out. Good luck!
