He tested it on an 8 year old boy and on some of his children.
he test it with a vaccine
He Tested with the vaccine
James Phipps
he saw milkmaids
Edward Jenner's evidence for his idea that vaccination could protect against smallpox came from his observations of milkmaids who had previously caught cowpox, a similar but less severe disease. He tested his hypothesis by inoculating a young boy with cowpox and then exposing him to smallpox, showing that he was protected from the more serious disease. This experiment laid the foundation for the development of vaccination as a key tool in preventing infectious diseases.
He tried it on a eight year old boy because he was sick.
no they did not agree with the advancement of his medical studies. they potrayed it as wizardry
He inoculated an 8 year old boy by introducing infection from a cow into his system. The boy developed a slight fever but was not seriously ill. Jenner then injected him with material containing the disease and no illness followed.
Edward Jenner did not discover germs, he developed vaccination for smallpox (using cowpox pustules) which was much safer than the inoculation for smallpox (using smallpox pustules) then in use. However he had no idea what actually caused smallpox, only that it was something invisible in the pus from the pustules.
what gave him the idea how to stop the disease
one of his freinds had come down with it and he felt sad for him so he wanted to make him feel better.
It was a new idea and most people thought it was illogical to intentionally make someone sick in order to prevent them from getting sicker.
