A 24-hour Urine collection for creatinine clearance and total protein (Increase in protein and creatinine in the urine indicates renal disease) should be obtained on admission to hospital and repeated as indicated. Also, Clotting studies if there is severe pre-eclampsia or thrombocytopenia.
