Shocking a pool doesn't necessarily bring up chlorine to a dangerous level. If there were contaminates in the water, such as algae, the chlorine would have immediately gone to work killing the algae, and the chlorine level would drop quite quickly.
Exposure to high levels of chlorine is more of a problem with repeated and long term exposure. If you didn't have any breathing problems from chlorine gassing out of the pool, you probably are fine. The other potential problem is itchy skin from high levels. If you noticed that, showering would have removed the excess chlorine.
nothing.
Then you can't swim
NO BIG DEAl!! It's as if you SHOCKED THE pool & you can swim in as little as 1 hr with pump/filter running!!
If lightning strikes a pool with people in it, the electricity can travel through the water, potentially electrocuting individuals in the pool. It is important to immediately evacuate the pool if lightning is approaching to ensure everyone's safety.
