What if any are the possible effects of having a chest x-ray?

The only risk associated with chest x ray is minimal exposure to radiation, particularly for pregnant women and children. Those patients should use protective lead aprons during the procedure.

Mammograms may be useful in detecting some Breast cancer.

However:

They are only really useful in older women.

They may miss some cancer.

X-ray exposure can cause cancer in high enough doses. Did you ever notice the x-ray tech wearing a lead apron and scoot out of the room during exposure?

There are not many effects which can come out of having a chest x-ray other than finding what the doctors were looking for. The only thing that even comes out of X-rays is low radiation exposure which proves to almost never be an issue.
