first aid for heat & cold wave
A cold wave is defined as the onset of unusually cold weather within a period of 24 hours. Cold wave also refers to a permanent wave in hairdressing due to application of chemicals without the aid of heat.
It would be endothermic. It is endothermic because it is cold and absorbs heat.
In first aid Mylar blankets are used to provide protection and warmth to those in cold temperatures. They are used on people who are pulled from the ocean to help them retain their body heat.
You learn in a First Aid Class how to deal with medical emergencies such as sudden illness, broken bones, joint dislocations, heat and cold related emergencies, anaphylactic shock, poisoning, and other topics.
The essential steps for administering first aid for heat illness are to move the person to a cooler place, remove excess clothing, cool the person with cold compresses or a cool bath, give them water to drink, and seek medical help if symptoms worsen or do not improve.
Typically you would use a heat pack (or hot water bottle etc) for a muscle injury. If you have pulled a muscle, hot (or cold) treatment will soothe the area
For a heat wave emergency, you would need supplies such as plenty of water for hydration, a portable fan or battery-operated fan for ventilation, a cool and shaded area to retreat to, sunscreen to protect your skin, and loose-fitting, lightweight clothing to stay cool. It is also important to have a first aid kit on hand in case of heat-related illnesses.
