Doctors in the US wear regular clothing, usually dress slacks, dress shirt with or without cuff links, a tie, and a knee-length full sleeve white lab coat if working in a hospital or clinic. If working in their own offices/practices, they normally do not wear any lab coat. Most often, they drape the stethoscope around the neck, or coil it in a pocket of their lab coat. On the waist of their dress slacks, they often carry a pager, and in a pants' pocket they keep their cell phone.
