  1. Using cleangauze or a clean white cloth, apply pressure to the wound, for several minutes. If the injury is on one of the extremities; IE: arm, hand, leg or foot, try to elevate it to a position that is higher than the heart, while maintaining pressure on the site of the bleeding. Do NOT remove the gauze/cloth to check if bleeding has stopped. If blood comes through the gauze or cloth, do NOT remove it. Apply more gauze/cloth on top of the first and apply pressure again. It is very important that you do not remove the gauze/cloths. In fact, they must be secured to the wound. When you don't see the blood coming through the gauze/cloths, use another roll of gauze or long strips of cloth to wrap around the area, to secure the gauze/cloths to the wound. Depending on the severity of the bleeding/blood lost, either take the injured to receive professional medical attention, or call an ambulance to take the injured to the hospital.

If it is a minor cut, and not to much bleeding, we give first aid. If first aid kit is available, we clean the wound with spirit then put an aseptic (sterlized) plaster or film-tape. If the wound is severe and bleeding continues, we press on the wound, and call for medical help!
