What is the hourly wage for an EMT?

In some companies about as much as I can get paid to make a sandwich at Subway. Ironic isn't it, however don't get into the field because you hope to get rich, or because you hope to be a "HERO", and definitely don't get into this field if you plan to just be an "EMT" Bunny!! Go into this field not thinking about yourself or your own needs at all. Consider the patient, the life you can help save, the conversations you will share with nervous, sick people, and the hope that you offer others that by doing your best.... good things will happen. And most importantly do it for the smile on your face at the end of the day.

This depends on the location. in a metropolitan area you will make a higher hourly rate than a rural area because of the call volume. However, in a rural area you will work more hours (three 24 hour shifts rural, vs four 11 hour shifts in the city) so you get the same annual wage no matter where you work

It varies obviously. But in LA County its 9-12$/hr
