Sometimes, MDs or DOs specialize in physiatry and will use manipulation in their specialty. Most DOs only do traditional medicine, surgery, and specialty medicine now and leave osteopathic manipulative medicine or treatment to MDs now. The only problem you may encounter is that when a DO refers a patient to an MD for osteopathic manipulative treatment, most insurances will not pay for it.
