What should you need to buy in order to take care of your braces?

Here is a list of the items my dentist has recommended I use for my newly installed braces. 1.) floss with threaders so you can get it between braces and teeth.

2.)wax to put between any braces that rub your gums and cheeks.

3.) a good toothbrush and paste of your choosing, an electric brush does the

best job.

4.) having dentek easy brush cleaners with you when away from home is

good for removing food until you can get to a brush and floss.

5.) my dentist also has me use flouride mouth wash every other day.

You usually don't have to buy anything other than what you already were using. (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) Most orthodontists will give out little "braces care" packages. They usually have a toothbrush, one of those dental mirrors, a Proxabrush, some floss, some floss threaders, and dental wax. If not, I recommend buying some Proxabrushes and floss threaders. Proxabrushes are like little toothbrushes that get food out from underneath the wires of your braces, believe me, you're going to need them. Floss threaders are like needles, except they aren't made of metal and the eye of the "needle" is a lot bigger. You tie floss around the "eye of the needle" and then thread the floss underneath your wires and floss as usual. It is very difficult to floss your teeth with a wire half-way in between, so floss threaders get the floss underneath the wire to make flossing easier. You might also want to get some dental wax. You put dental wax on your braces to keep them from poking. Dental wax can be found at most major drug stores, or it can be provided by your orthodontist.
