They put their finger round the opening to the uterus
I can think of no reason or know of any incidence where a doctor would strip during an examination.
MMM most commonly stands for moist mucous membranes.
I have had 2 premature babies. The doctors said that Coriaomnionitis is the leading cause of premature births in the united states. It is a bacteria that attacks the membranes in your womb causing prematurity.
Doctors rarely make you take off all your clothes. However, there are certain diseases and ailments that need a full body examination before diagnosis and that may be the reason you have to take off all your clothes.
The two major categories of body membranes are epithelial membranes and connective tissue membranes. Epithelial membranes include mucous membranes, serous membranes, and cutaneous membranes (skin). Connective tissue membranes include synovial membranes that line joint cavities.
There are four different membranes in the body that are related to tissue; cutaneous membranes, mucosal membranes, synovial membranes, and serous membranes.
Not all doctors require their patients to strip in order to do a physical exam. If the amount of clothes you are asked to remove makes you uncomfortable, talk to the doctor (or nurse) about it and come to a compromise - or change doctors. Although it can be embarrassing and uncomfortable, the doctor needs direct access to the different areas of your body in order to do a proper exam - but you can uncover each area as needed rather than getting starkers.
Membranes surround cells. There are no cells found in membranes. Membranes are composed mostly of lipids.
The casparian strip is a waterproof barrier in the endodermal cells of plant roots that regulates the passage of water and nutrients into the vascular system. It ensures that all materials entering the plant must pass through selectively permeable cell membranes, helping to maintain nutrient uptake and prevent the entry of toxic substances.
Mucous membranes.
I have never been able to feel my membranes bulging. I have had doctors and nurses tell me they are bulging, but I felt nothing. Water breaking does not cause me any pain, just makes a mess. Even when the doctors artificially rupture them. When I dilate I feel a sharp pain in the cervix, and sometimes it can feel like a menstrual cramp. However there are some people that do not feel any dilating until they reach 4 to 5 cm. sometimes you body can do it slowly to where it can be painless.
