You can donate encyclopedias to local libraries, schools, or educational institutions that may benefit from them. Many nonprofit organizations and charities, such as Goodwill or Salvation Army, also accept book donations. Additionally, consider reaching out to community centers or shelters that might appreciate them for educational purposes. If the encyclopedias are outdated, recycling may be a more suitable option.
Try a Charity Shop or have them recycled
You might ask a teacher or other school administrator if they know of any student that would benefit from your gift, Or you could probably donate them at your local Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Encyclopedia is singular, encyclopedias would be plural.

How much is scrap paper going for a pound these days?Encyclopedias cost a lot, so people often mistakenly assume that they're worth a lot. This is not true. Encyclopedias are updated yearly so that the information in them doesn't get out of date; a ten year old set of encyclopedias is essentially worthless.Don't believe me? Go to a library sale sometime. People often donate old encyclopedias to the library because they hate to just throw them away, but the library (which probably has several current sets) has no use for an out of date set and will sell them for whatever they can get. This may be as low as a few dollars for a complete set.
Not much really. Just the fact that the "free encyclopaedias" are actually FREE. The other encyclopaedias you are talking about, I assume would cost money, and they would usually contain more information depending on what brand you purchase and if the sources are reliable (you trust them).
