Uhm so you can have clean teeth and make sure there is nothing wrong with your teeth or inside of your mouth and so that you can prevent cavities and infections. Why would you ask a question like that is kinda obvious.

Dentists take care of people's teeth. If we didn't have dentists, many more people would have cavities, and those people whose wisdom teeth really would cause problems or who have certain diseases like Gingivitis wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
