There is a sports day because they want kids to get physical. They want the kids to get into fitness because now a days kids are interested in talking and electronics and all that stuff. And they don't take time to exercise. So there forcing kids to exercise.
It is great for kids. It gets them exercise and teaches them respect, patience and how to defend themselves.
