Why would a 10-year-old girl get a lot of headaches?

It could be so many reasons, from migraines to stress to anything really. If her headaches are constant and quite painful... be sure to get her checked out.

If you notice any of these signs:

*Not being able to walk straight

*Blackouts

*Constant dizziness or blurred vision

* Extreme nausea

*Slurred speech

*Complete inability to focus

I would recommend seeing a doc ASAP. It could be anything like a migraine to something much more serious with these mentioned symptoms.

When she has a headache, lay her down in a dark room and let her rest. Make sure it is quiet or have the fan on. If this is a migraine, it should help. Try to keep her on healthier foods and limit any soda or caffeine consumption.

Truthfully, there is no way to know for sure what the cause is. Stress is known to cause a seemingly never-ending list of problems for people. However because she is 9, I don't think stress is much of an issue. ibuprofen is a generic pain killer that reduces swelling, which can also be the cause of a headache. I am not a doctor, so you should take your child to a pediatrician. I hope she feels better soon:)

Go get her checked out by a doc. It could be harmless, but it could also be a sign of other things that are more serious. At the very least, if it is something like a sinus infection, you can get her fixed up with some antibiotics, and then she doesn't have to keep dealing with it.
