A person is called a clean freak if they are constantly cleaning things. They want to have a spottless house, office, etc. It is usually meant as a deregatory term, but some people take pride in their "freakiness."We define clean freaks a little differently. Our definition is: someone who is physically calmer in a clean home versus a messy or cluttered home. It's more of a state versus an action (e.g., cleaning all the time). Also some clean freaks hire services or use products that make sure their homes are always tidy so don't have to clean all of the time. (p.s., we're some of those mentioned above who don't think "clean freak" is a derogatory term and definitely take pride in it!). -- Carol

What are they talking about on the Jesus Freak song?

The term "freak" typically relates to a person who has withdrawn from the norm and in this case is following after a particular obsession. The term Jesus Freak was originally used as a derogatory term for seemingly over zealous followers of Jesus Christ. An interesting note is that the term "Christian" was also originally used as a derogatory term (meaning "little Christs") used for Christ followers. The one singing the song is acknowledging his withdrawing from the norm to wholeheartedly follow Christ. He choosing not to be concerned with "what people will think, or what people will do" because the fact is that "there ain't no disguising the truth". The truth being that he is indeed a Jesus Freak. - Jesus Freak, Bradley Price
