Depends on your age. Under 16, about 1300-1800 calories a day, I'd wager.. over 18, around 1800-2000. It depends on your metabolism/activity level, as well.. the more you work out/move, the more calories you need to eat.

Phelps (Olympic swimmer) burns something like 25,000 calories a day.. so he needs to eat that much, and maybe a little more, to maintain his body weight. The average person doesn't need to eat more than 2,000 calories a day.
